About Me

With over 20 years of diverse work experience, I joined the CSUF Police Department, where I've worked for almost eight years. As a disabled combat veteran who deployed as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, my background includes serving as a dispatcher for the Los Angeles County Fire Department and as the event administrator at Petco Park, where I helped oversee game day operations and maintained key relationships with San Diego Padres front office staff.

New to Cal State Fullerton in 2018, I championed the first-ever Public Affairs/Communications Specialist position within law enforcement across the CSU campuses and currently manage the Public Affairs and Community Outreach Bureau. In my current role, I am responsible for our community policing efforts, crisis communications, social media, marketing, graphic design, and assisting the university with its Clery reporting and Workplace Violence efforts. My expertise is recognized nationwide, as I'm often called upon to provide training and feedback to other law enforcement agencies.

In addition to my bachelor's degree in communications with an emphasis in public relations from California State University, Fullerton, I continually seek opportunities to learn and grow. I have committed to this by completing various training courses, including the FBI-LEEDA Media and Public Relations Master Public Information Officer course, IACLEA's Crisis Communication Strategies for Mass Demonstrations on Campus, and Police Social Media Academy's 1st Amendment & Legal Issues with Mark Weaver course, among others.

I am an active member of the Public Safety PIO Women's group and the Orange County Law Enforcement PIO group, where I collaborate with peers to enhance my skills and knowledge.

Earlier this year, I was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal by the CSU Chancellor's Office for my collaborative efforts in organizing the annual Shop with a Cop event.

I joined the CSUF Police Department’s PIO team in 2018.
